Cauvery am I

I danced to your tunes
As I cascaded along gleefully.
I gurgled so much to see your giggles.
Sunshine or storm, I embraced you,
The moment I saw your face.
Companions, I knew none other than you
Time soared, rockets flew, coloured lenses you wore,
Smoke burnt, soil cringed,
I still smiled to see you laugh
Oh dear!  Tears I can't cry as I dry
Will you turn your heart to bring me to greet you?
I silently wait, Cauvery am I,
When trees walk by my side,
Sea of contentment will be my sight
For your breath to be bright.
Now will be forever if you choose right.
