Cracker

Embedded as a wick in my mother's womb
I lay in a sea of her warmth.
Gathered by creation's galore,
I smirked at the miracle that moved every inch of the globe
Pulled by will and pushed out into this land
That I would call home
Fingers touched your footsteps that I just had to follow
The wick that I am, Oh my gracious one!
Will I turn into the cracker burning bright
And just fade away in your light?
